Eli goes for his 1 year check up and shots on January 19th! I will be sure to keep you all updated on everything from his appointment! However, the last time we went for his second round of flu shots on December 15th, he didn’t shed one tear. I WAS SO PROUD!!! I kept saying “good boy” and showering him with compliments. I think the nurses thought I was a lil insane- but I was so happy! This makes it so much easier on you lil man, and of course Mama too :]
Eli is still eating table food and is doing great! He is not a bit picky at all, and I’ll just say- he loves loves to eat! It’s so funny to watch him too, even in public. He eats so gentle and quietly. He barely makes a peep when he eats, he is down t business folks! He is starting to want to feed himself more and more. He hasn’t accomplished eating with a spoon and fork by himself yet, but he is a pro with his hands!!! I am thinkin here once we go to the Dr he will also be switched to milk- yay! Since he is such a good eater, I feel very good about switching him off formula and to milk. I have already gave him some milk and he doesn’t have a problem with it at all thankfully!
Eli’s favorite foods are: chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, grilled cheese, mac n cheese, hot dogs, noodles, any type of puffs, bread, apple sauce, any type of fruits, cereal, butter cookies, yogurt, and mashed potatoes. He loves to eat breakfast which is usually cereal or oatmeal and then eats table food for lunch and dinner too.
Eli is now just having a morning bottle and night-time bottle and no bottles during the day at all. He has become a pro at drinking out of any type of sippy cup and I am so glad, it was so hard at first to get him to switch over! He is in size 4 diapers and wears 18 month clothes. It seems like all of a sudden he went from 12 months to 18 months in a hurry! He now wears size 5 in shoes too. He has 8 teeth total and 2 more working their way through.
He takes one 2 hour nap everyday from around 10:00am to 12:00pm. He faces forward in his car seat now and it is a total different story added to the plate. HE LOVES IT and tries to have conversations with us, it is so cute!!! I’m so glad he is so much happier now- that backwards junk was so sad anymore. We had him sit rear facing for as long as we could but it was so overwhelming we decided it was close enough to him turning 1, so we did a lil switcheroo :]
Eli is talking more and more these days. Most words are still babbles, but we can still understand some words for sure! It is the cutest thing ever- and his lil voice is so sweet! The words he says are: star, ball, truck, dog, DaDa, MaMa, Zach (for his Uncle Zach), sock, uh-oh, hot (we say this when we see any candles, the stove, fires, etc), back pack back pack (off of Dora and he picked up on that from Wyatt haha), ba-ba, more, and yum (that comes out as mum :]). He also waves hi and bye-bye all the time and when you say the words hi and bye-bye he waves instantly.
He loves to clap his hands and do big boy, and he also does the touchdown too! He is pulling himself up on everything and if you stand him on the ground he will stand there by himself for a lil bit and then take about 5-6 steps to us!!! It’s so exciting!!!! I’m waiting for the day for him to take off and do all the walking because right now he also likes to walk while holding our fingers, and he is even starting to try and run too hahaha (thanks to Aunt Kt :]). Eli is also getting up on his knees on his own now (standing on his own will be here soon I predict!) His new thing as well is feeding Noah and I his food haha- he gets so tickled when he puts food towards us instead of his mouth :]
He loves to play with any kind of toy in the world haha. He loves his lil drum set from Santa and is really starting to get into farm animals too. He loves his musical activity table, and music in general too. He still loves watching Barney and Praise Baby so much- those are his 2 favorites. He loves his 2 dogs Benny and Belle and every day we make a trip to see them a little bit after he wakes up! He crawls very good and fast and likes to follow Wyatt around. He loves the kiddos that come to my house every day, and he has picked up on good things and is socializing more and become more vocal since they have been at my house too. I couldn’t ask for anything better that is for sure!
I love spending time with him every day at home and being with the kiddos every day too! It is the best and so wonderful to me!!!! I’m so so thankful! Eli also likes to ride his toy tractor and car, and crawl through the tunnels we have downstairs for the kids and him. He is an in-between kinda boy when it comes to a Mama’s boy and a Dada’s boy. He likes spending time with boy of us and I love that!!! He finds different things to do and entertain himself and will still want his Mama and Dada time too. He is such a lil toddler anymore, but yet he still has me rock him to sleep for his nap every single day and I absolutely love that!!!!! When he gets older I can just see him out in the garage with Dada working on stuff- they are so cute! I love my boys so so much and I am such a lucky girl to have them!! :]
Our little Eli- you are so wonderful and honestly, you make Mommy and Daddy better people! We are very lucky to have such a healthy and wonderful lil boy like you!!! We are so lucky to have you and you show us even more love then what we could have ever imagined seeing! :] From the first day I found out I was pregnant with you, we were a pair from there! I will never forget the day you were born and the first time I held you and you were crying and all bundled up with a cute blue hat on. I said “Hi buddy- we have been waiting on you for so long and love you so much” and you instantly stopped crying. It was the best feeling in the world!
You are such a joy in our lives, and both of our families lives too!!! We are so very proud of you and can’t believe you are one now!!! Mommy and Daddy are always here for you buddy- and will always be here forever!!!! We always always will love you so much, and hope you always know that! 2009 was one of the best years ever- because our sweet baby boy was born and made our lives even more wonderful then we could ever imagine! <3
