Eli is pretty much up to the same ole stuff as he was last month- but it seems he is more of a conversation lil man now! He is in to this new thing where if I am in the same room as him or happen to be in the kitchen to get him a drink, etc- he will say “Mama Mama” and I say “what buddys” and he tells me what he has to say! It is sooooo adorable if I must say so myself and I love it so much! Sometimes he tells me ELMO and sometimes he wants to go to his room to play, or go outside, or watch Buzz- just anything he wants he tells me and it is so stinkin adorable! He even told on the dog the other day!!! He said “Mama Mama all gone” and I said “who is all gone buddys?” He said “BENNY!” And he was right- Benny ran out of the front yard and across the street! How smart and cute buddy! He also of course does this to Noah too- only saying “Dada Dada” and then will say what he has to say or wants! Love love love it sooo much- melts my heart <3
Eli is still doing well with counting- even though he only knows 1, 2, 3- but hey it’s a start and I am still proud of him. He is very good about knowing which animals are which and making the noises they make too. He now knows the color blue and black and I am working on him with the other colors! We will get there for sure!!! He knows what a lot of objects are which is very smart! He knows an airplane, tractor, baby, clock, bed, just about anything really! He even calls flag poles sticks hahaha! I think that’s so funny and cute! He is learning so much all the time- it is unreal how fast they learn and how cute it is to watch them and help them learn!
Eli is of course still into Elmo, Mickey Mouse, Toy Story and Toy Story 2 (I know he will love the 3rd one too) and his new love also is Diego! He even says Diego and loves Boots too!!! I think that show is so wonderful for kids to watch- it teaches them such good things and even how to count in Spanish! Eli has got one heck of a memory! Must get that from me- bc I am the same way! We bought him Buzz and Woody PJs that look like their uniform and the other night he wore the Woody PJs for the first time and kept pointing at his own arm and saying “uh oh” remembering when Woody’s arm rips in Toy Story 2. It is so adorable he remembers so well- but at the same time sad. I always have to assure him Woody is okay and his arm will definitely be okay too! He always remembers the last time he sees someone too and reacts in the way he saw them. For example- if we talk about Papa- he says he went bye bye! So stinkin smart to have a good memory like that!
Eli now has 17 teeth.. the 4 eye teeth finally popped through! He had such a tough time with those lil fellas… they gave him colds, fevers, the whole 9 yards poor buddys :[ He is doing much better now though! We are brushing his teeth everyday and he loves to do it on his own now too. Sometimes of course he just wants to do it for play though :] He goes to bed around 9-9:30pm every night and wakes up around 8-8:30am every morning! He has been having night mares lately though and it is sooooo sad. He just wants to cuddle with me and feel he is okay and it breaks my heart- I wish lil kids never had to have night mares! :/ He has been up every night this week at one point from a night mare and just screams and cries til I get in his room... breaks my heart soooo much :[ Snuggle time between Mommy and Daddy ALWAYS helps tho!!! He also still naps in the afternoon for about 2 hours. He goes to sleep anytime between 12:30pm and 1pm and wakes up between 2:30pm and 3pm.
He is wearing 2T shirts, 18 month pants, and still in 7 or 8’s in shoes too. We just bought some sneakers since Fall is around the corner and they are Buzz and Woody sneakers that are light up shoes- he loves them and it brings me back to the days of light up shoes too and how much we loved them haha!
You are more of an independent lil man, but still like us to be in your sight. You don’t like to be in your room to play without us (which is fine with me for sure he is still young and fun to play with always and I don’t care if he drags me to his room at age 10 or older- it will always be a memory!) You love to play with other kids- but still love to see us in your sight too! No matter what you do- you love to do things more of yourself (like climbing up on the chair to sit or getting up on his tractor to sit or into his bed) but you always show me and Daddy how much you love to have us there with you always! We absolutely love that for sure!!!! You are all boy- love baseball bats, basketballs, footballs, (you are gunna be a lil sports man for sure and want to play so many sports- I can already see it! :]) and now you love to take a drum stick and beat the heck out of the stairs or the Buzz and Woody foot stool you have! We just ordered you a new drum set because you hit the old one so hard- it broke :[ You hit soooo hard- like I am seriously scared of him if he is close and banging a drum stick real hard on his foot stool hahahaha! That drum stick will never come near your baby brother for sure!!!! We have worked on how hard he hits- we don’t care that he loves the drums- but he hits so hard we had to work on it so he isn’t as outgoing about it haha! He has gotten better for sure but at times he still just waaaails on things like it’s going out of style ha! You throw baseballs and play catch with us and then also throw footballs too and yell TOUCHDOWN after you throw it and put your hands in the air :]
We have also had to go through a stage of where he gets real mad if we say no to something he shouldn’t be playing with or if he hits the dogs or just throws a lil fit for no reason and anything small like that and have been sitting in time out for like 2 minutes… while I talk him through that he is going to be okay and why he has to be a careful lil boy and to not cry and he will be alright. He calms down real fast and understands now and is doing better with it! I don’t want to get frusterated at him at all and don’t want to spank him but explain to him what happened and he is going to be okay and assure him through the process while he is sitting down and calming down. I feel since he is so young and can’t tell us everything he wants to all the time yet- it isn’t necessary to get that frusterated at him ya know? All Noah has to do is raise his voice and say “Eli NO” and he stops doing it instantly knowing he shouldn’t be doing it. He most of the time cries a lil when it happens though and of course runs to me- which is hard to turn him down so I let him sit on my lap and hug and get him calmed down!
I just love him dearly and know it is a part of his age and know he is such a good boy and so darn sweet even when he is sad! The lil hugs he gives us, kisses, and just to hear him say “Mama” and “Dada” and even “Zacary” or “brother” now melts my heart! He is a very sweet boy and cares so much and it is so sweet! I am going to be one Mommy that hates disciplining though- it’s so hard to do. Breaks my heart even though I am always making him feel secure still- just don’t want the lil man to be mad at me ever even though it will happen at times in life. I also do not want my kid to be the one who is always “that kid” all the time either- so do the best I can with being secure and calming him down for sure. I really think disciplining is a man’s job though ha! I can’t explain the love I have for that lil boy- he is just absolutely amazing in every single way and makes my day every single stinkin day! It’s so cute too because Noah is a big sucker upper so he ends up huggin up to Eli and bein good buddies with him again 5-10 minutes later… I love that! Noah is such a good Daddy!!!!
Happy 20 months lil man- always know your Mommy and Daddy love love LOVE the every lil thing out of you and will do anything in the world for you. We are always here for you buddys and are proud to have such a good and sweet lil man like you!!!!! <3
